It’s a little weird for me to be writing something like this… I thought I would be the last person to have a blog, but I thought I would give it a shot since the Case India Trip Blog went over so well. And this is my first time away all by myself to a place so far away, so it will be nice to see everyone’s comments to my postings. I realized yesterday that I am more ignorant of the interent and its capabilities then I had once thought when Gopal said “You can subscribe to the blog by the RSS Feed on your Google Reader”. I’m not quite sure what that means, but maybe I will figure it out by the end of my trip.
So far so good. I am in Newark now and have had a smooth go of it so far. I had some coffee this morning so that I could in peak productivity mode today. I have already done a ton of work on my presentations for my trip in just a couple hours. There is something to be said for coffee….
I have looked around Newark airport and found where I will be having my last US meal (for 2 weeks), the NJ Diner. I am guessing diner food will be hard to come by in Trinidad and its my favorite. I have already some enjoyed the Ben and Jerry’s this morning and was quickly reminided why I don’t like sugar cones… the hole at the bottom where the melted ice cream leaks out. So I should arrive in Trinidad tonight at 7:30 CST with an ice cream stain on my shirt. I am sure the food in Trinidad will be a step up (or likely many steps) from Mexico, but I need some comfort food just to be on the safe side before I leave. While in Trinidad I hope to
get to Maracas Beach, which is an hour north of Port of Spain, where they have a famous sandwich called the “Bake and Shark”. I have also been told to try a roti, so plan to check that out as well.
Well, I guess that’s it for now. Not sure what internet access is going to be like in Trinidad, but I hope to have another post for you soon.
